Luigi is Mario’s younger brother and is often overshadowed by his famous older brother. While Mario is courageous, Luigi is almost always a coward, but he can be heroic when necessary. He has most of the same abilities as Mario except that he can jump higher and he runs slower. He plays lots of sports with Mario. He is usually portrayed as Mario’s sidekick but every once in awhile he becomes a hero in his own right.
