PlayStation 3 is a seventh generation videogame console developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the successor to the PlayStation 2 and it competes with the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360. The most notable feature setting off the PS3 from its predecessors is the PlayStation Network, an online game service with many options to choose from including playing free online games. Other important features include connectivity to the PSP, multi-media capabilities, and a Blu-ray player built into the PS3.
